Costa Rica ranked first in the top 10 most popular destinations for adventure tourism according to the US magazine International Business Times. A survey was given to travel guides from the well-known agency, Virtuoso, a television network promoting luxury vacation spots in the Americas, the Caribbean, New Zealand, and Australia.
The waterfalls and the blue waters of the Celeste River in Tenorio Volcano National Park, surrounded by 31,676 acres of tropical rainforest, are one of the reasons that helped place Costa Rica among the top ten in the world, as well as the variety of adventure sport options like rafting, hiking, climbing, cycling, and others.
South Africa, the Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, and Australia, occupy the five positions, respectively, following Costa Rica in this Top 10 list.
