I'd rather go to Vietnam than Thailand! Thailand is SO corrupted. Human trafficking everywhere, scams too. Vietnam has those things but,not to that extent and it's just lovely!

I am Canadian but Vietnamese by birth and have never eaten dog but to say horrible things about a culture you know nothing about, and have no experience living in. It's easy to say what is right and wrong when you happen to live in an affluent part of the world. Unless you don't eat meat at all, or you only eat free-range organic humane meat, I don't think you can really comment as to what is cruel and what isn't. I bet visiting a slaughter house in the US would show you what cruelty really is.

People who are mentioning how the Vietnamese treat certain animals when eating them. Unfortunately many are poorer and can't afford to put their dogs in designer clothing or send them to dog psychics. It's a different culture, and I believe many do not eat dogs (although of course some others do). What's with this idea in North America that certain animals have more rights than others? Do you see the way North American's treat chickens, cows, pigs etc? Cruelty is a matter of perception.

@ridiller It's Chinese chess, of course it has Chinese character. Using Vietnamese characters would be too long to fit in the pieces.

In Vietnam, If you say " du ma mite", then it means you are a very good person. It is a special vietnamese greeting.
